Steve Vaiouga
From Samoa, Steve is a sophomore here at BYUH majoring in Social Work. He takes great pride in his culture and showcases that as a dancer at the Polynesian Cultural Center. He aspires to be school counselor to support the youth in his home country. He enjoys playing volleyball and basketball, landscaping, hiking, and, of course, spending quality time with friends and family.
​Jensen Ama is a freshman from Utah majoring in "Eternal Families." He recently returned from serving as a missionary in the Samoa Apia mission, where his father is from. He is able to represent his mission and blood culture while working in the Samoan village at the Polynesian Cultural Center. At 6'6" and a heart of gold, Jensen is one of BYU-Hawaii's most easily identifiable students.
Jensen Ama
Will Fifita
Will hails from the Kingdom of Tonga and is currently a senior majoring in English. He is a gifted dancer and guitar player and thus is very comfortable owning the stage and performing his heart out. He hopes to become a fit teacher to touch the lives of students for good.
Dallas Adams
Dallas is a sophomore from California majoring in Business Marketing. He is a professional DJ and brings events to life with Oahu Parties. He has knack for music and wants to showcase that to any and all audiences. He wants to continue to grow as a successful DJ and pursue a career in business.
Joseph Ruben
Born in Fiji, Joseph is a senior studying Information Technology. He is a classy guy and loves to sing and dance. He often seeks outdoor adventures with friends and thus is one of the more well-known faces on campus. He even has such a passion for education that he plans to pursue a masters degree after graduating from BYU-Hawaii.
Spencer Hauata
Spencer comes from the romantic islands of Tahiti and is a junior majoring in Business Marketing. He works as a security guard at the Polynesian Cultural Center, actively ensuring the safety of guests and employees alike. He loves boxing, soccer, dancing, and acting. Though some perceive him as quiet and mysterious, he hopes to be a successful actor while owning a business on the side.
Rai Pollock
Rai also hails from Tahiti and is a sophomore studying Intercultural Peacebuilding. He loves to represent his culture through dancing and does exactly as a performer at the Polynesian Cultural Center. He speaks French and hopes to use that and more to unite cultures across the globe.
Thomas Nebeker
Thomas is of Native American descent and born in Utah. He is currently a freshman majoring in biology here at BYU-Hawaii and works as a tour guide at the Polynesian Cultural Center. His skillset include welding nunchucks, the bowstaff, and hacking computers. He is also a proud Montpelier Idaho Big Stack Pancake Challenge winner!
X Llewel Angala
X is from the Philippines and is a junior majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management. He receives on-hand experience while working in the Food and Beverage Department at the PCC and enjoys all that he learns there. He hopes to venture beyond Hawaii and his home country and pursue a career in Hong Kong, China.
Takashi Masuda
Takashi hails from the "Land of the Rising Sun" and is a sophomore majoring in Information Technology. He proudly lives up his culture's stereotype of solving math problems and excelling in his classes here at BYUH. His simple dream consists of spreading peace as he cruises around the world in his Volkswagen.
Spencer Maloy
Spencer comes from Nevada as a freshman studying Biology. He specializes in aerial photography, mountain biking, and repairing phones. Having recently received his mission call, he will be preparing to serve in Puerto Rico in the coming months as well. He plans to become a maxillofacial oral surgeon but his ultimate goal is to be a good father to his future children.
Damon Kumar
From the islands of Fiji, Damon is a senior double-majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management and Human Resources. He loves anything and everything outdoors, including swimming and fishing. Eventually, he hopes to fulfill his dream of becoming a successful model and even start a small business.
J.V. was born in Manila, Philippines and is a freshman majoring in Information Technology. He loves to dance, listen to music, and play basketball. He is an aspiring web developer with the goal of overpowering Facebook and Google. If he can't accomplish that, he plans to join them instead.

Ian comes from the islands of Samoa as a senior also majoring in Information Technology. His abilities as a performer and a tour guide at the Polynesian Cultural Center make him quite a familiar face on our campus. He previously attended college in Fiji and is indeed grateful to be continuing his education here at Brigham Young University-Hawaii.
